“The very fine harpist, Anna Reinersman, helped premiere many of my harp songs as a member of the Locrian Chamber Players and I wanted to write a solo piece for her.  We spent the better part of a year to come up with this piece which uses for source material many of the songs written for the Duke Ellington Orchestra by his friend and protege the under-appreciated genius, Billy Strayhorn. I remain eternally indebted to Anna for her instrumental insights, patience and pet cat, Jacques. This piece is gratefully dedicated to her.”
